“Said” Conscience

I have been trying to talk to you.

But you have not been listening.

Every second of the day, I have been with you.

Yet I am the only one you are ignoring.

Are you scared to listen to what I’m going to say?

Or is it that you consider it useless advice?

You may have had a lot of fun today,

doing so many things that were unwise.

Love surrenders to lust

And you have begun to live a lie.

Do what you do… if you must.

There will be a lot to answer when you die.

Can’t force you to listen to me,

Can’t convince you that I’m right,

But what really amazes me

Is how you manage to sleep at night?

All I can really do

Is keep talking to you

It is time for you to realize

That the only one you are fooling is you.

Not everything can be blamed on fate

So listen…before it’s too late.
